Domo® has had an approved FIFA license since as far back as 2003. The long list of FIFA tested artificial grass pitches bears witness to this. These days, clubs and municipalities are prepared to invest more in artificial grass pitches of the highest quality in order to offer their players the best pitch.
FIFA 1-star and 2-star pitches must meet strict technical requirements imposed by FIFA, and to this end strict tests are carried out by an accredited lab. This results in top quality artificial grass pitches. Domo® cooperates with various accredited labs around the world to allow these tests to be performed, such as Isasport, Labosport and Ercat.
The production of a FIFA pitch requires a great deal of expertise. Domo® has an internal technical laboratory in which all characteristics of the artificial grass can be tested, right down to the smallest detail. The technical test values that a FIFA pitch must satisfy have been set on the basis of values measured on an ideal natural grass field. There are three basic categories in which tests are carried out: “the durability of the surface”, “the impact of the ball”, and “the impact of the player” on the artificial grass. The most important difference is a shorter ball roll and a more natural impression of the player’s foot into the surface in both a running and turning position.
A FIFA 2-star artificial grass football pitch can be created with different constructions. A number of types of artificial grass surfaces can be combined with soft or hard bases. Domo® has the expertise in-house to build a FIFA concept from these different elements.
