WESTSIDE INDOOR DOMO® SOCCER ARENA IN VIENNA (WSA)

2009-03-19 In February 2009, in Vienna, Austria, the WESTSIDE SOCCER ARENA (WSA) opened its doors. The WSA represents a totally new kind of Indoor and Outdoor Soccer Arena for Austria. Here, professional and recreational footballers alike can train all year round.

WSA Manager Stefan Kreuzer explains the concept behind this facility, which is setting the standard in Austria and is in fact the largest arena of its kind at the moment in the entire German-speaking world: “In Vienna and indeed all of Austria we are faced with the problem that there are hardly any weather-independent training facilities for footballers in winter. This affects not only recreational footballers, but practically all the clubs as well. The WESTSIDE SOCCER ARENA is an exemplary project which meets this need exactly and also opens up further opportunities as an integrated concept.”

First, Hall A will be opened on 1 February 2009. It offers the choice of either three standard indoor courts of 30 x 15 metres - or one court of 30 x 45 metres, presenting optimum training opportunities for all, including professionals. Not only have recreational footballers really taken to Hall A, so too have the professionals from SK Rapid, who have already had their first training sessions in the arena. Indeed, as this team’s club backs onto the WSA plot, cooperation between the two is close. However, one particular core feature of the facility, which contributes to the comfort of every footballer all the way from the under-11s to the Premier League, is its DOMO� Artificial Grass. The WESTSIDE SOCCER ARENA offers its customers a real premium product playing area, the DOMO� Champion Supreme.
