DOMO sand-filled hockey pitches have an open structure, combined with a longer pile, and less fibre density. This ensures an even spread of the sand infill, leaving appr. 4 mm of the fibres visible. The fibrillated fibres remain nicely upright, as is the case with natural grass, whilst benefiting from increased pitch stability. Sand-filled hockey pitches produce smooth and even ball roll and have less chance of compacting.

DOMO sand-dressed hockey pitches have a high fibre density. They are produced in fibrillated fibres, which have undergone micro crimping. The result is a dynamic pitch with perfect ball roll, easy on muscles and joints, but providing a technically fast game. The typical micro-curled ‘honeycomb’ structure keeps the sand in the right place, and the fibres remain upright. Moving the hockey stick under the ball is easier, because the ball rolls on the fibre and not on the sand. Increased ball visibility makes it easier for spectators to follow the match. The hockey pitch remains nicely green just like natural grass. DOMO sand-dressed hockey pitches have the looks of a water-based field, and provide smooth and fast play with suppleness and comfort, in all weather conditions, which is why they received FIH certification.

DOMO water-based hockey pitches are composed of fibrillated fibres with micro-crimping and have an extremely high fibre density. Water-based fields cannot be stabilised with sand. That’s why DOMO has incorporated a high latex coating. The artificial grass fibres are tufted into the backing, consisting of a woven UV resistant screen, strenghtened with glass fibre. DOMO received FIH Global Certification for their water-based pitches; an accreditation only awarded to hockey pitches that can be used for international and Olympic matches.
